We kindly ask anyone (participants and instructors) with symptoms of COVID-19 including fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat and painful swallowing to stay home and not attend the training session. Instead, please complete the BC COVID-19 Self-Assessment Tool, follow the recommendations given, and rebook your course for a later date.

During your course, wearing a mask that securely covers the nose, mouth, and chin is mandatory. You may bring your own, or one will be provided when you arrive. Thank you for keeping us and your classmates safe.

Alberta and BC First-Aid

Looking for work in the BC or Alberta oil sands?

This course is perfect for any one looking for work in BC or Alberta. The course includes Worksafe BC Occupational First Aid Level 1 and a Canadian Red Cross Standard First-Aid with CPR/AED Level 'C'.

This hands-on interactive two day course teaches workers how to deal with the most common occupational first-aid emergencies for both Alberta and BC. Course includes:

  • Adult, Child & Infant CPR (Level C)
  • Choking procedures
  • Emergency scene management
  • Dealing with shock
  • Spinal injuries
  • Minor wound management
  • Major bleeding
  • Internal bleeding
  • Poisons
  • Minor burns
  • Heart attack/stroke
  • Broken bones
  • Seizures
  • Heat related illness
  • Hypothermia
  • Allergic reactions


The Occupational First-Aid Level 1 is recognized by Worksafe BC. The Standard First-Aid is recognized by the Workers' Compenstion Board of Alberta. Both certificates are good for three years. This course includes a first-aid manual. 

When applicable, first-aid course price includes GST.

If you have already taken Worksafe BC Occupational First-Aid Level 1, Emergency First-Aid or Standard First-Aid you can save time and money by taking an Occupational First-Aid Level 1 and Standard First-Aid Level C Recertification

If you are registering for a recertification, you must bring proof of current certification with you to the course. If you do not show proof of current certification, you will not be certified.
