What to do if your car is sinking in water

March 7, 2019/0 Comments/in Emergency Preparedness, Safety /by Alert First Aid Inc
Escape from sinking car demonstration.

If your car was sinking in a lake, ocean or river, or was submerged in a flood, would you know how to get out? The first 30 seconds are so important.

Act fast – unbuckle your seatbelts as soon as possible, and escape through the front window (even if you’re in the backseat – the back windows don’t always open right away). If your window isn’t opening, use an inexpensive tool like the RESQME Quick Car Escape Tool to break it.

Unbuckle older children first before younger ones, and get out of the vehicle as soon as possible! Be prepared – this knowledge could save your life.
