We are postponing all in-person courses until further notice due to COVID-19. We want to do our part to help slow the spread of this virus, and are unable to carry on in-person first aid or Foodsafe courses while maintaining social distancing. We are looking into alternative delivery methods, and will resume courses as soon as it is safe to do so.

With the healthcare workers putting their lives at risk and the shortage that is sure to come, our incoming masks will now be reserved for health organizations that need them. We are reaching out and working alongside them to ensure they have the protection they need. If this is you, you can see what we have available here – let us know how we can help.

Basic First Aid for Biking & Boarding Teens

Basic First-Aid for Biking and Boarding Teens (13-18 yrs)

This course is taught at the Crystal Pool & Fitness Centre.

At Alert First-Aid we not only believe it our job to teach you the information below but ensure you feel confident and empowered when dealing with injuries. We do this with our hands-on learning approach, running first-aid scenarios that are relevant to you. Encouraging you to use real first-aid supplies and to ask questions and practice in a safe and fun environment.

This fun and interactive 4-hour course trains teens how to react and improvise when dealing with time priority, life-threatening emergencies. This course includes initial assessment of an accident, disease prevention, airway obstruction, adult and child hands-only CPR. Teens will also learn recognition and first-aid treatment for head and spine injuries, shock, bleeding, and broken bones.

Participants spend the majority of the course doing hands-on first-aid practice and participating in first-aid scenarios. By practicing with scenarios students gain confidence, learn to improvise, and react to emergency situations.

Full Course Length: 4 Hours
