We are postponing all in-person courses until further notice due to COVID-19. We want to do our part to help slow the spread of this virus, and are unable to carry on in-person first aid or Foodsafe courses while maintaining social distancing. We are looking into alternative delivery methods, and will resume courses as soon as it is safe to do so.

With the healthcare workers putting their lives at risk and the shortage that is sure to come, our incoming masks will now be reserved for health organizations that need them. Step 1: Professional Responder Skills Assessment

This Canadian Red Cross Professional Responder course is designed for candidates who wish to deliver Canadian Red Cross Professional Responder courses, including Basic Life Support (BLS), First Responder (FR), Advanced First Aid (AFA), Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Oxygen Therapy (OT), Marine Advanced First Aid (MAFA), Airway Management (AM).

The pathway to becoming a certified Instructor to teach Professional Responder courses is as follows:

Step 1: Evaluate skills and check prerequisites

Step 2: Fundamentals of Instruction (onlne & in person)

Step 3: Discipline Specific Professional Responder

Step 4: Teaching Experience

Step 5: Certification!

This is only step 1 of the process. 

Prerequisites

You must hold a current Red Cross participant level certification in the discipline you wish to teach (Basic Life Support, First Responder or Emergency Medical Responder).
