This fun and interactive basic-level first aid course combines 3-4 hours of online learning with 3.5 hours in-class to train participants how to react and improvise during time-priority, life-threatening emergencies. This course covers initial assessment and response, airway obstruction, adult cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and recognition and first aid treatment for major bleeding. Participants spend the majority of the in-person portion of the course doing hands-on first aid training.

This course is accepted by BCRPA and will be geared towards fitness professionals (group fitness instructors, yoga instructors, personal trainers, etc.) though the first aid topics covered will be universally applicable. Participants must successfully complete the online portion prior to attending the in-class portion of the course.

Participants recertifying only need to attend the in-class portion of the course.

Certification

You will receive a physical wallet-sized Alert Emergency First Aid with CPR Level A certificate at the end of the course, provided that you've completed the online portion of the course. Certification is valid for 3 years.

Recertification

If you have a current and valid Emergency First Aid certificate or higher, you are eligible to take only the in-class Alert Emergency First Aid with CPR Level A Recertification course. No online component will be required ahead of time. Please be prepared to show proof of certification.
