Emergency Medical Responder (with Scope Update)

A comprehensive 120-hour Emergency Medical Responder course that includes full EMALB Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 endorsements with no need to take additional "Scope Update" training.

This course provides the knowledge and skills necessary in an emergency to help sustain life, reduce pain, and minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness in a pre-hospital setting. It is intended for those providing emergency response: firefighters, law-enforcement officers, paramedics, and workplace responders.

This course meets the Paramedic Association of Canada National Occupational Competency Profile for the practitioner level of emergency medical responder (EMR).

Completion of this course allows students to apply for licensing with the Emergency Medical Assistants Licensing Board (EMALB) and can be used to help gain employment with fire departments throughout British Columbia or on-ambulance as an EMR with the BC Ambulance Service. Please note – licensing is a separate process conducted directly by the EMALB. They set the schedule and fees for this next step. Students will need to undertake and pay for additional exams as part of this.

Once licensed, students can apply for an Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 3 equivalency certificate with no additional training needed.

Hi, I took a cpr-c course from instructor Ashley this September.  I am an RN and so have had to take very many first aid courses in the past.  I would like to say that I was shuffled on to your organization because the original course i was going to take was cancelled and they gave me your company name.  When I called I had a good conversation with someone who seemed very on top of things and knew how to give me directions and this person was very practical and seemed to know exactly the kind of cpr-c course I would need.  I had never had this happen before... the the person on the other end of the phone actually sounded excited about first aid and that was a first for me.  The course was easy to find and was exactly where I was told it would be with big signs out front to direct me and that was awesome.  I was not given a hard time for not doing a lot of prereading (I hardly ever do the prereading as I have reading comprehension issues and am more a kinesthetic learner).  We had this instructor named Ashley and as I work in mental health I quietly decided that she must have some low grade adhd diagnosis... I guess you would think that this would be a bad thing... but it was an awesome quality.  She made the course really a lot of fun and it was the very first cpr course where I have not fallen asleep... seriously!  I totally remember how to do cpr now and that is the first time I have taken a course and actually remembered stuff you know.  So thank you.  I will only take cpr courses from your outfit from now on.  I really think you guys got it going on.
