Basic First-Aid with CPR A for Cold Open Water Swimmers - This fun and interactive 4.5 hour course trains people how to react and improvise when dealing with time priority, life threatening emergencies, with a focus on cold open water swimming. This course includes initial assessment, secondary survey, airway obstruction, adult CPR (Level A). This course will also cover recognition and first-aid treatment for head and spine injuries, shock, bleeding, seizures, broken bones, heart attacks & strokes, and a heavy focus on environmental emergencies such as hypothermia, after drop, heat stroke, and heat exhaustion. The course instructor will also include the importance of being prepared with safety plans and equipment. Participants spend the majority of the course doing hands on first-aid, and participating in first-aid scenarios.
